Shatrughan Sinha has been grabbing headlines for his bold statements recently. But it was his indirect jibe at Akshay Kumar over the Khiladi’s whopping donation to the PM Cares funds that made the most noise.

For those of you who have joined in late, Akshay Kumar was lauded for his generosity after he first donated a humongous 25 crores to the PM Cares fund and days later, donated yet another 3 crores to the BMC. While the actor was loved for his act, Shatrughan Sinha was of contrary opinions when he said that its offensive to brag about the donation amounts of 25 crore by the people making these donations. He even called it “show-off biz” instead of “show-biz”.
But now, in a surprising turn of the tide, Sinha has said that he never even had Akshay Kumar in his mind when he made this statement. The veteran has further gone on to call Akshay a dear family friend.
Clarifying his earlier stand to Bollywood Hungama, “When I made that statement, I didn’t have Akshay Kumar in mind. People came to their own conclusion because Akshay has given Rs. 25 crores for the virus-affected. I would never target Akshay for any taunt. He is not only my daughter Sonakshi’s leading man but also a dear family friend. We visit one another socially,” shared the actor.
Making his admiration for Akshay loud and clear, Shatrughan Sinha further said, “He is constantly tapping into his stardom to do good for the needy and the underprivileged. Whenever there is a cause, he’s always at the forefront to help. His generosity and concern for the downtrodden is an example to all of us.”
Well, that certainly was quite a turn around of stands or may be we wonder if the world certainly did misunderstand Shatrughan Sinha.
